Very random advice to any new FFR members looking to improve.

Try your very hardest to learn to play with two hands. I know, it sucks, it's uncomfortable at first, but it is SO WORTH IT. It took me about a month of playing over and over with two hands to just get used to it, but if you ever want to be any good at FFR, you'll need it. Some people learn it quicker than others. I was slow.

Obviously, you CAN be incredibly good with just one hand, but there are very few people who have actually been able to pull that off. It's just a lot easier for most to play with two hands.

Yes, playing harder songs will DEFINITELY help, just not too much harder than what you're comfortable with. Just stick with practicing difficulties that are ONE step up from what you can do easily for now. Once you've gotten comfortable with that (may take a while), move the bar up again.

But a HUGE tip I would give to help you with reading is: INCREASE YOUR SPEED MOD!!!
If you currently play at x1.0 speed, you MUST get used to x1.50 as soon as possible. It really, really helps more than almost anything. To train yourself for a faster speed, play approximately 10 EASY songs on x1.75 (yes, you will probably fail them, but last as long as you possibly can) and after that, switch down to x1.25 speed. Repeat this process over and over until you're ready to try x1.50 speed.

Thanks xollner :) I forgot to go on about speed mods. After getting used to 1.50, continue on to 2.0 to reach your full potential (you don't absolutely NEED 2.0 to reach your full potential, but it helps). Also, after learning to play with two hands instead of one, and playing that way for a while, start working on switching over to spread. Check out the FAQ if you're unsure what spread is.
